Cram's General Store

-
The other Big Bay information hub is this former IGA grocery, also a full-service gas station. A good general store in remote areas has to carry hardware, cookware, useful things like needles and thread, videos, propane, and some groceries, along with beer, wine, and spirits. Joe and Kathy Cram have gone way beyond that, with a meat department and, in groceries, at least one choice of just about anything you'd want. Complete picnic fixings are here, too, and some locally made gifts. Webmaster Pete Hall has created a giant Cram's General Store community web site with Big Bay Snowmobile Club info, recommended local fall color tours, and lots of neat stuff about Big Bay. The Crams also own the adjacent Hungry Hollow café and Laundromat. -7/2010
