Sharon Childers is the pleasant owner of Sadie's, where in estate sales from Florida to Michigan she has assembled a wide variety of things. Our favorite: small owls fashioned from nuts and other scrap metal.

A cluster of three uncommonly interesting antique shops has popped up in this little place. John Robinson's Sherwood Forest Antiques particularly stands out. Among a wide variety of things, he is especially strong in silver and photographica, with original images from the 1830s on to World War One. Open 10-5 daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Finally, there's Scott Barr's Blaney Park Antiques, located in the old schoolhouse that later became the resort's theater with live plays. Barr finds some sophisticated pieces like Red Wing and other fine pottery in house sales in Arizona, Texas, and Florida. Plus there are local objects like snowshoes and fishing lures.
