Brevoort Lake/Hiawatha National Forest

-
The 4,233-acre lake has a man-made spawning reef that has helped create a good walleye fishery. This heavily managed and stocked lake also has pike, muskie, panfish, bluegills, and crappie.

Fishing info and lake depth charts are always available for free at the camp store between the picnic area and campground. The store sells tackle, bait, groceries and snacks, and it rents boats (bring your own motor) and canoes.

Nearby is a sand beach (inland lakes have warmed up when Lake Michigan is still cold) and a lakeside picnic area with tables and grills.

The 20-minute interpretive Ridge Trail begins just outside the campground and goes up a sand dune with a Lake Michigan view. The North Country Trail passes neaby; a trail marker is by the campground entrance.
