A relocated 1920s boathouse contains many boats and boat-related items. The new addition dwarfs the original building and permits more boats to be displayed. There are sailboats, rowboats, Old Town canoes, and many historic photos of the area boating scene. Viewing windows let visitors see restoration and boat-building activities in the boat-building shop. Volunteers have built a replica of a Mackinaw boat, the standard means of transportation before roads were improved. Its double-ended design allowed boats to be easily beached in storms.
