Prentiss Bay Marsh
Here Prentiss Creek forms a wide marsh. Scores of nesting boxes are for tree swallows. Some 300 such boxes have been deployed in the area. Longtime resident Harry Harris, a former gunsmith, birder, and a dedicated ecologist, made them from scrap. Each spring he sets up the boxes from his boat; each fall he takes them in. Many of his exceptional photographs of birds are on display at the Les Cheneaux Historical Museum. On M-134, 7 miles east of M-129 Cedarville, just inside Chippewa County.
