Chassell Centennial Park
Not obvious from the highway, this well-equipped park offers a swimming beach and peaceful view across Portage Lake. There's a chutes-and-ladders playground, a boat launch, full-size volleyball and basketball courts, picnic tables and grills, and a gazebo. The big pavilion is used as an ice rink in winter. Don't expect much shade. It's an open, sunny place.Off U.S. 41 at the north end of Chassell, just south of the Chippewa Apartments, at the foot of Third Street. Wheelchair-accessible.
