Lighthouse Overlook on Copper Harbor

Where Fanny Hooe Creek empties into the harbor, roughly across from the entrance to Fort Wilkins, are a small parking lot and a few picnic tables. The wheelchair-accessible overlook and rocky beach offer a grand view of the lighthouse, especially beautiful as it catches the setting sun. A beautiful nature trail winds among the cedars and pines, with interpretive signs provided by the Fort Wilkins Natural History Association. In the evening this is an enchanted place. 
Off U.S. 41 just east of Fanny Hooe Creek. State park sticker required: $ $10/year for Michigan residents, $29 for others. Handicap accessible: picnic area can be used, not up to ADA code.
