Froehling Falls—West Branch Chocolay River

Froehling Falls
Wayne Premo

This is a beautiful thirty to forty foot waterfall in a pretty spot. The only detractions were some seemingly polluted water and sloppy tree cutting nearby.
Directions must be followed precisely. It is a difficult walk of a little over on half mile one way.

It is necessary to cross the river to take a good picture. In Skandia, park 2.3 miles west of County Road 545 on County Road 460 (this leads to the former K. I. Sawyer Air Force Base).

Walk straight north by compass to the river. Walk upstream to the waterfall. It is rough walking; it is hilly and messy from lumbering.

Ability to Locate: Difficult
Access by Hiking: Difficult
Beauty of Falls: Very Good
