Greenland vistas

-
Way up the hill above Greenland, past the dirt auto race track and the Ontonagon County Fairgrounds, a rather steep path leads on up to two remarkable vistas. First you come to a view to the north and west, a vast panorama. You can see all the way to Ontonagon and Lake Superior, 15 miles away.

Continue on the path and another vista awaits, this one to the south and east, looking down on Mass City and Trout Creek 25 miles to the east.
-
From the corner of M-38 (Greenland Rd.) and 1st St. head east on Greenland Rd. and in 1000 feet you'll come to the crossroad (called 4th St. to the south, Tower Rd. to the north). Turn uphill to the north (left if you are coming from 1st St.) onto Tower Rd. and head up past the dirt racetrack and park at the Ontonagon County Fairground another quarter mile down the road. There you'll find a path leading farther up the hill that will take you to both vistas.
