Torch Lake Township Park

Torch Lake Township Park
Don Hunt

Located at the dramatic southern entryway of the Portage Waterway, this little park has a nice sandy beach for swimmers and sunbathers plus a tree-shaded area for picnickers. Many like to fish from the long pier out to the entry light. Amusingly, if you walk all the way out to the light, you discover a Danger! sign warning of the loud fog horn you're standing under. Walking out on the pier is dangerous during storms when waves could sweep one into the lake.

At the end of Jacobsville Road, turn right. The road goes past a former Coast Guard State and dead ends at the park.
