Baraga County Tourist & Recreation Association

The helpful, obliging tourism director, Tracey Barrett, goes out of her way to share her wealth of local knowledge with a very wide variety of visitors - anglers, snowmobilers, hunters, waterfall-watchers, and more. Because Baraga County with its many waterfalls is so well suited to backroads adventures, its tourism people have published a detailed county map which Tracey can mark up when she finds out what you'd enjoy doing. A beforehand visit to www.baragacountytourism.com can acquaint you with the area's possibiities.

The office here not only stocks an unusual variety of free publications, phone books, etc. It's the best place around to examine and purchase local history books on Baraga County communities small and large. Coffee is always available. There's a pop machine, too, and indoor picnic tables perfect for sitting and relaxing or looking at books.
