Bete Grise beach

Just a stone's throw from Lac la Belle just beyond where a lumber and fishing village once stood, there's a sandy public beach with a few picnic tables and an outhouse. Visitors park informally along the road. The road along the beach goes all the way to Mendota Canal, across which is the Mendota Lighthouse (privately owned). From the beach is a 10-mile shoreline vista up the Keweenaw.

Take Bete Grise Road two miles east from main junction at Lac La Belle.
