Mount Bohemia Ski Area

Mt. Bohemia 2
Don Hunt

Just north of Lac La Belle, Mount Bohemia rises 900 feet above the village & lake. For serious skiers, it has a unique combination of attractive features:
• an extraordinarily abundant and reliable amount of snow (270+ inches a winter), thanks to Superior's lake effect, the best snow in the country
• the lack of beginner runs. While it may be 500 feet or so less the highest Colorado slopes, it doesn't even have intermediate trails. The average pitch is 31°. Some trails are like waterfalls.
• its remoteness, over 400 miles from Chicago.

Bohemia skier 2
Skiing Bohemia is not for the faint-hearted.

For the most adventurous, one side of Bohemia, called "Extreme Back Country," has cliffs that drop 40 feet.

Lodging: 8 4-person cabins, $99/cabin/night. Plenty of other accommodations in region.
