Christine's Gallery Studio

The handsome, light-filled brick office of the Bay de Noc Lumber Company c. 1900 now houses a growing gallery of works by 50 area artists in all media, orchestrated by Christine Groleau. A retired Escanaba art teacher, she's one of the team that first got Nahma back on its feet. Highlights include antler baskets (work by this craftswoman are in the Smithsonian collection), jewelry, quilts, and Christine's own watercolors of local subjects like the lumber company's landmark black burner by the slips. History fans may enjoy details like the pay window and views of the remains of the lumber mill.
