Strawberry Lake & Kids' Kingdom Playground

-
The caved-in Aragon Mine is now a delightful pond where loons stop and ducks congregate. The pond is stocked with trout; a wheelchair-accessible fishing platform by the parking area off 12th Avenue gives access. No fishing license is required for children and seniors. A small picnic area takes advantage of this pretty setting. A paved trail loop around the lake is well used by people from parents with strollers to kids on bikes and rollerblades to people in wheelchairs. A community-built playground offers swinging bridges, maze castles, slides, swings, and picnic tables.
-
Take Main north from U.S. 2 and downtown. Park entrances are on Central (playground area) and 2nd Ave. (fishing pier). Handicap accessible.
