Gabbro Falls
Wayne Premo

After a short walk along a path through a forest emerges a deep gorge where the Black River, less than a dozen feet wide, drops a full 4 stories between the dark rocky banks. One of the more memorable but less visited of Gogebic's waterfalls.

There are no signs, so you must be careful not to miss it. The walk is short and easy. Take Blackjack Road 1.5 miles north from US-2, near Ramsay (which is west of Wakefield). Go west toward the river at the second gas line clearing. After crossing the bridge across the Black River, drive up the hill until you reach a building on the right. The path begins just across the road.
