Rapid River Falls
 |
| | The pretty little Rapid River County Park provides picnic tables, a playground, and benches for taking in the plashing sounds and peaceful ambiance of this waterfall. It’s 1/3 mile off U.S. 41, 6 1/2 miles north of Rapid River on the way to Trenary. | This four-tiered falls and Delta County park along the Rapid River is a highlight of the rural drive along U.S. 41 from Escanaba through Trenary to Marquette. The peaceful falls are close to the parking area. Water spills over smooth limestone shelves. The pleasant riverside park, with its picnic tables, grills, and playground, is an attraction in its own right, with the burbling water in the background.
From U.S. 2 at Rapid River, take U.S. 41 6 1/2 miles north to S-15, just before crossing the river. Turn left onto S-15 Road (the waterfalls are clearly marked). The park is in 1/3 mile. (906) 474-6442.
