Silver Falls

Silver Falls
Baraga County Tourist & Recreation Assoc.

Visiting this waterfall in a rocky forest is an interestingly complex experience. It's part of the Copper Country State Forest. The trail from the parking area leads to a dramatic overlook onto river and falls from a rock shelf. Go down the trail to the base of the falls, and you're surrounded by dark rock, close to the rushing water that has worn two channels in the stone. The pool just below the falls is fine for fishing or just getting your feet wet.

A popular swimming hole is farther downstream; beyond it is a second waterfall.

From downtown L'Anse, take Main St./Skanee Rd. up the hill and out 6 miles. A sign to Silver Falls, on the right, marks Falls Road. Parking is in less than a mile. Not wheelchair accessible.
